There are numerous ways to make a gift to St. Luke's Lutheran School. Listed below are some of the methods available to make current or planned gifts to St. Luke's.
Cash gifts are the most common form of support and entitle the donor to an income tax deduction within the year the gift was made. Checks should be made payable to "St. Luke's Foundation, Inc." VISA and MasterCard are also accepted.
Gifts of appreciated securities provide significant tax savings for the donor. The donor avoids capital gains taxes, and gifts are tax deductible at fair market value. To receive these benefits, securities must be transferred to the St. Luke's Foundation, Inc. prior to sale.
Gifts-in-Kind are non-cash donations, which fulfill specific needs like computers, furniture, athletic equipment, etc.
Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to make charitable contributions. Matching gifts are a great vehicle for donors to maximize the impact of their gift. Please contact your employer's Human Resource Department for more information.
By naming St. Luke's Lutheran School the owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy, you may receive a present charitable deduction for the amount close to the cash value of the policy. You may either transfer an existing policy to St. Luke's or purchase a new one. If you choose to continue to pay the premiums on a policy transferred to St. Luke's, you can deduct the amount of the premium as a charitable donation.
When making estate plans, please consider placing St. Luke's Lutheran School in your will. Bequests permit donors to commit assets after their lifetimes while retaining the property during their lives. Bequests can allow for significantly larger gifts and can reduce taxes.
