Governance
Vision, mission
values

St. Luke's Lutheran School is governed by a Board of Directors of up to twenty-four members comprised of parents, past parents, grandparents, community leaders and members of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. The Board defines the mission of the school, is responsible for long range planning, and has fiduciary responsibility for the school.

There are seven Board of Trustee committees: Finance, Foundation, Planning, Education, Marketing & Enrollment, Nominating & Governance Effectiveness and Building & Grounds.

Members of the current Board of Trustees are:
Joe Daniel, Chairman, Kee Miller, Vice-Chair, Dawn Hamilton, Secretary, Bill Cole, Jim Dyer, Linda Gyory, Lisa Preddy Hall, Pup Holden, Steve Lewellyn, Christina Mills, Ed Scott, Tom Sisk, John Stover, David Stynes and Annie Williams.
Head of School, David Kukielski, Pastor Angela Jennings and Robin Woodard, Treasurer are ex-officio members.

The voluntary stewardship of the Board is critical to the success of our school. The Board of Trustees is dedicated to supporting the school and planning for its future. To that end, the planning committee spent over seven months engaged in a long range planning process with an outside consultant. As a critical aspect of this process, board members surveyed parents, students, church and community members, and other schools to learn more about the strengths and challenges of our school.

The result of this effort was the creation of a long-range plan that includes a Vision statement and revised Mission and Core Values statements. The vision of St. Luke's is to inspire every student to demonstrate throughout life our core values: enthusiasm for learning, personal excellence, responsibility, integrity, respect and compassion. Our mission is to prepare students for life by providing a superior college preparatory education in a Christian environment.

The key elements of the long-range plan are:
  • To support the vision and mission of the school;
  • To communicate the school's mission clearly and often to the entire St. Luke's community ensuring a full understanding of what we expect and what we are trying to accomplish with our students;
  • To strengthen the partnership between parents, school, and church;
  • To foster long term dedication to the school from students, alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends;
  • To foster life-long community service;
  • To evaluate and improve programs that prepare our students to matriculate into top colleges and universities;
  • To define the purpose for the pre-grades as part of the full pre-school through 9th grade program;
  • To expand after school enrichment activities;
  • To evaluate academic success;
  • To retain superior faculty and staff;
  • To exercise effective governance by maintaining a strong, committed Board of Trustees;
  • To strengthen the financial condition of the school; and,
  • To maintain and improve the facilities and grounds.
